Speak out. Stay safe!

This week, our children have been taking part in workshops to help them stay safe.

The NSPCC "Speak out. Stay safe." campaign is run in schools across the country. The aim of the programme is to give the children the understanding that child abuse is preventable using strategies which are age-appropriate.

The children have watched an online assembly as well as taking part in workshops which have covered topics such as bullying and abuse without using any scary words or adult language. Ultimately, it is designed to help children to understand how they can get help if they need it.

The messages they should remember are:

  • Every child has the right to speak out and stay safe.
  • Making a child feel sad, scared or worried is never OK and is never their fault.
  • If they're ever worried, they know who to talk to, so they can get help.

This is part of our ongoing safeguarding education which we give the children throughout the year which has the primary aim of giving them strategies to help themselves remain safe.
