Eco Council

 

Eco Council was set up in 2022. The first Cam Everlands Eco Council obtained recognition of their hard work through the award of The Green Flag.

Eco Council meet with Mme Brunet on an alternate Tuesday afternoons. Eco Councillors for 2025:

Some achievements since Eco Council was set up:

Planting trees with the Lions Club in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth.

Improvement of recycling in the school - Big Battery Hunt with 75k of batteries gathered and sent to be recycled, whole school assemblies on why and how we can recycle better at school, reorganisation of classroom and playground bins.

Reduction of electricity use through making others aware when they need to switch off plugs and lights, electricity monitors, regular no electricity time.

Making the school grounds more environmental friendly through No Mow May, making birdfeeders and wildlife habitats with Mr Kinsley. 

Active participation in the Community Woodland Project at Westonbirt Arboretum, with our very own Emily Fletcher's path design chosen for the creation of the new woodland, 200 saplings planted by children of our school and ongoing. https://www.fowa.org.uk/blog/young-conservationists-plant-the-next-generation-of-trees/
