Hindu experience day

Pupils from Cam Everlands enjoyed a day of activities to help deepen their learning about Hinduism.

On Thursday, we enjoyed a day of workshop activities which were held to deepen the understanding of the children in the Hindu faith.

Hinduism is the 3rd largest religion in the world and part of the RE curriculum. Mrs Dunning, as our RE subject leader, arranged for Indriyesha Das and Krishna Das from Hinduism Education Services to visit the school to share information about the religion and also what life is like as a Hindu.

The children attended workshops where they learnt about what was important to Hindus which gave them the opportunity to reflect on the similarities and differences in other religions and beliefs. It also gave the children the opportunity to celebrate how others live, making them more understanding citizens.

Throughout the day, the children enjoyed what was being shared with them and impressed Indriyesha and Krishna with both their thoughtfulness and their behaviour.
